Nurture Studio is offering a new service as part of their commitment to your emotional health and well being. Claudia Gibson is a psychologist with many skills in helping people take control of their lives and reach their potential in life situations.  Claudia would like to offer you  an opportunity to come and introduce yourself to her and discuss your needs. Sitting with Claudia can assist you to develop strategies for dealing with a problem in life by increasing self awareness, making meaningful choices for action and encouraging self management to achieve your goals. You will find that Claudia is highly skilled as a psychologist. She will be respectful of you as an individual and will wait for you to make a choice to act.

 

Through counselling and skills development, she can help you with:


1.   Depression Management
a.    Assistance is given to re-establish a sense of pleasure and fun in your life and deal with overwhelming sensory experiences


2.    Self organisation/Decision Making
a.    Activities are given to match your priorities/values with your stated goals and then support goals achievement and recognition


3.    Sleep Disorders
a.    Insomnia has been proven to be largely psychological. Strategies such as establishing sleep hygiene, increasing self awareness and using self talk will increase your sense of well being. The overall outcome is to promote a feeling of rest after a sleep.


4.    Anxiety Management
a.    Anxiety can affect your life to a point where it impedes on your life activities. This process assists you to manage your feelings through the use of biofeedback mechanisms and utilise more adaptive ways of taking control of your life. Worry strategies help to unlearn the mechanism of anxiety and assist you to learn other strategies that do not impact on your life.


5.    Anger Management
a.    This process focuses on situational factors and self awareness but will challenge your automatic behaviours that support your anger and aggression.


6.    Relationship Skills
a.    As a human being, you have a need for others. The extent of that need depends on your personality. Learning about yourself and others in relationships can often develop a safe environment where you can be you. Relationships can also provide a buffer for dealing the stress of the outside world

 

7.    Return to work
a.    The Return to Work Solution after a critical incident can affect the rest of your working life. Claudia can will offer counselling that:
•    identifies your personal barriers for your return to work
•    develops your coping skills to address those barriers
•    develops strategies that will assist you, both in and out of the workplace
•    provides you with an opportunity for assessment of career and life potential
•    provides you with an  opportunity for assistance to ‘move on’ if unable to resume your previous role

a.    Workplace stress can be pervasive in all areas of your life. As such, stress management is an important life decision for you, who are trying to achieve in a dynamic world. You may not want to go to work or home, leave your job because it is all too hard and worst of all not feel comfortable talking to others about it. Recognising stress factors and reducing stress levels is not just a “nice thing to do” but rather a positive commitment to success in life.
